Residents Permits
Overview
Residents permits are a convenient choice for people who work from home or work unsociable hours.
Eligibility
These permits are strictly for full time residential use only. Airbnb, holiday lets, rentals or second homes are not permitted.
Any permit found to have been issued to a non-resident will be revoked immediately with no refund being offered.
They are limited to one per household, and are subject to the following eligibility:
- your permit zone will be within the immediate vicinity of your residential address.
- your vehicle will fit wholly within a parking bay.
- your vehicle is registered at your permanent residence as above (company vehicle accepted)
Permitted car parks
These permits can only be purchased on either an Annual or Winter season basis for car parks where residents parking is allowed, listed below:
- Zone 1 - Bideford: Cattle Market, Clarence Wharf , Pannier Market (Honestone Street) ,Riverbank Long Stay ,Springfield and Bridge St between 4pm and 10am Monday to Saturday and ALL day Sunday
- Zone 2 - Northam: Bone Hill and Windmill Lane
- Zone 3 - Appledore (Winter Season - 1st Nov to 14th Mar only): Churchfields, Odun Road and West Appledore
- Zone 4 - Westward Ho! (Winter Season - 1st Nov to 14th Mar only): Main, Slipway and Wilkey's Field
- Zone 5 - Torrington: Barley Grove and Sydney House (South Street)
- Zone 6 - Holsworthy: The Manor and Well Park

ZONES 3 & 4 ARE ONLY AVAILABE FOR THE WINTER SEASON (1ST NOVEMBER - 31ST MARCH) - Please apply from 1st October

You will need:
- An account on our online permit system
- A copy of your latest Council Tax & Utility Bill
- Your vehicle's registration number (number plate)
- A debit or credit card
These permits must be re-applied for each year and a copy of the latest Council Tax Bill must be provided to renew the permit.
Terms and Conditions
- The use of this permit does not preclude you from receiving a Penalty Charge Notice should you fail to comply with these terms and conditions or commit any other offence contrary to the District of Torridge Off Street Parking Places Order 2024. Please see the information board in the car park for further details.
- The Council accepts no liability for the loss or damage to vehicles or the contents thereof.
- In using this permit in your designated vehicle you are agreeing to the Council's terms & conditions contained herein and within the above mentioned Order.
