Land Data created the awards to acknowledge the work and achievements of Local Land Charges Officers around the country and to give recognition to those local authorities who are playing a key role in modernising and shaping the future of the industry.

Over the course of a memorable evening hosted by television and radio broadcaster Clare Balding, the winners were honoured across 6 categories. More than 180 Local Land Charges Officers from around the country attended the awards dinner.

Kevin Crowl, Senior Local Land Charges Officer said:

"We have a great Local Land Charges Team at Torridge who work extremely hard to deliver a professional and efficient service to all of our customers.

To win another national customer satisfaction award is a fantastic achievement. The recognition of our efforts and commitment to the service that we deliver is a great reward. We are very proud of this success and will endeavour to maintain and further improve our service and standards. I would like to thank everyone who voted for us."

Phil Pennington, Leader Member for legal services said:

"Following on from last year's success this is again tremendous news. It is wonderful to see Torridge District Council officers performing so well.

We are extremely pleased to have won this award and my congratulations go to the Local Land Charges Team for the excellent work that they have done."

The Customer Satisfaction Award was created to applaud those Local Land Charges teams who have gone the extra mile in terms of their customer service levels. Through the Law Society, The Council for Licensed Conveyancers and the Local Land Charges department's own client list, Conveyancers were asked to vote for the local authority that they felt provided excellent customer service.

Industry experts from Land Data, NLIS, Severn Trent Searches, The Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC), The Law Society, The Local Land Charges Institute (LLCI) and The IDOX Group carefully reviewed the entries and selected the winners. Entries were reviewed and judged on critical success factors such as planning, evaluation, implementation strategies and results achieved to date.

Alex Fraser, Chief Executive of Land Data commented: "The Land Data Local Land Charges Awards aim to celebrate and reward the achievements and accomplishments of local authorities and individuals.  All of our Award winners were of a consistently high standard. We are delighted to see so many local land charges departments across the country striving for excellence and making huge efforts to improve their service in the face of very challenging market conditions."
