Introduction
The Government, through Planning Policy Statement 3: Housing, requires that Local Authorities demonstrate a deliverable supply of housing land. The statement available for download below is intended to address that requirement.
Latest Position
The latest statement, based on April 2011 figures, identifies a five year housing land supply sufficient to meet the residual requirements of the Devon Structure Plan but not the draft Regional Spatial Strategy.
This supply equates to a capacity to provide 282% of required supply against the Structure Plan and 91% against the emerging Regional Spatial Strategy. As such, in line with the requirements of Planning Policy Statement 3, the Council is able to demonstrate a five-year housing land supply.
The Statement of November 2011 replaces the previously issued Statements of December 2010.
