The ranger team at Northam Burrows have some exciting free activities planned for this May half term for all the family to enjoy.  So, if you're stuck for something to do and want to keep the children entertained while getting some fresh air, why not check out what's going on.

On Tuesday 27 May from 2pm-4pm, make your mark on the world and join the rangers on the beach for some BIG beach art!  The gallery will be opened for a limited time only as all temporary artworks will be gone with the next tide.  Meet on the beach near the Sandymere lifeguard hut (EX39 1XS).

On Thursday 29 May from 2pm - 4pm, join the rangers to explore the shore around Westward Ho! for a shoreline scramble.  The rangers will be heading south, along the waters edge to reach the rock habitats below the sea pool.  Here you can explore and learn all about the crabs, fish and other fascinating creatures that live there.  Meet at Westward Ho! Slipway.

No booking is required for any of the organised events, but children must be accompanied by an adult and appropriate clothing and footwear is advised. If you're like Torridge's hungry rangers some snacks and drinks may also be a good idea. Check out all the details at www.torridge.gov.uk/northamburrows or on Torridge Council's website and posters on social media.

Councillor Cheryl Cottle-Hunkin, Lead Member for Culture & Community Engagement, said:

"The events organised by our rangers are a fantastic way to take the opportunity to enjoy some fresh air, have fun and discover something new.  Best of all, all the family friendly activities are free.  We are so lucky to have an award-winning 'Blue Flag' beach like Westward Ho! on our doorstep, so why not get outdoors this half term, who knows you might find your inner artist and newfound respect for our coastline."
