Energy Efficiency Grants

Grants are made available for homeowner-occupiers, Landlords and Tenants for insulation works and heating installations

The Council does not administer these grants, but can offer advice and information on energy efficiency measures.

The Government has recently taken action to ensure that all housing stock in the private sector is in good condition and is energy efficient. The recent introduction of the Health and Housing Safety Rating system (HHSRS) empowers local authorities to ensure that properties comply with higher health and safety standards and economic heating and insulation systems.

There are a variety of grants available to help homeowner-occupiers, Landlords and Tenants to insulate their homes and to install heating systems where properties have either a non-working system or no system at all.

These grants are normally offered through certain Energy Suppliers, The Warmfront Scheme (Defra administered) and the Heat Project, however funding is limited and schemes will be altered or withdrawn from time to time.
