Local Government Boundary Review

Local Government Boundary Review

On 13 July 2017, the Torridge (Electoral Changes) Order 2017 was laid in draft in Parliament. Now that that draft Order has successfully passed through Parliament, it will give effect to the final recommendations that were consulted on during the Local Government Boundary Commission for England's review of electoral arrangements for Torridge District Council, and published on 24 January 2017.

Article 3 of the order abolishes the existing electoral wards of the district of Torridge and replaces them with 16 new ones. Please see below the table which establishes the names and areas of the new electoral wards and the number of councillors for each and these will come into force at the local elections in 2019.
