Rake and Burn Volunteer Day

5th of December 10am-4pm

Come and help the Rangers clear cut bramble from the sand dunes to improve conditions for wildflowers next summer. Bring a packed lunch, suitable clothing for the weather and good sturdy footwear. Refreshments and tools provided. Please register your interest by contacting the Burrows Centre using the details below.

Harvest Mouse Survey Training

2nd of February  10-30am-1pm  & 1.30pm-4pm 

As part of the Devon Harvest Mouse Project we will be hosting a special training day. Led by the Devon Harvest Mouse Project Officer this training session will provide you will the knowledge and skills to conduct your own survey for this special creature. Winter Bird Walk

18th of February 3-5pm

Winter is a special time for birdlife on Northam Burrows and the best time for bird watching. Come on a guided walk with the Rangers to see what species are about.

Coastal Heritage Project-Westward Ho! Beach History Walk

19th of February 1-3pm

As part of the North Devon Coast AONB's COASTAL HERITAGE PROJECT we will be hosting a guided walk along Westward Ho! beach to discover secrets hidden by the golden sands. Meet at Westward Ho! slipway.

Mud Dipping

9th of April 2-4pm

Come and discover the creatures that live beneath the mud flats at this special event with North Devon Coast AONB and Coastwise. Bring wellies and wear suitable clothes (this will be seriously muddy fun!!!). Meet at the Skern.

Rockpool Ramble

11th of April 2-4pm

Join the Rangers and North Devon Coast AONB on a guided rockpool ramble. Bring wellies and suitable clothes. Meet at Westward Ho! slipway.

Coastal Heritage Project-Victorian Westward Ho! History Walk

16th of April 2-4pm

As part of the North Devon Coast AONB's COASTAL HERITAGE PROJECT we will be taking a look at the History of Westward Ho! as a Victorian holiday resort. Meet at Westward Ho! slipway.

Burrows Spring Clean

18th of April 1pm-4pm

As part of Keep Britain Tidy's GREAT BRITISH SPRING CLEAN volunteers are needed to help clear away all the flotsam and jetsam washed up during winter storms. This is a chance to get the beach looking fantastic for the summertime and remove litter from the marine environment to prevent it from harming wildlife. Refreshments and bin bags provided. There will be a limited number of gloves and litter pickers available, please bring you own if you have them.
