Tall ship enquiries, castellon Spain cargo expected, Yachts being launched, Farmers Markets on quay.

Mr Michael WG Eastman has taken these excellent photos of the two ships recently loaded at Bideford. These two ships saved approx 220 long distance lorry journeys.  

Tall ship enquiries, s/v BESSIE MAY may be operating from Clovelly in the autumn and has enquired re storing here at BIDEFORD.

Also a production company filming a food programme HUNGRY SAILORS has enquired about visiting the port with a PILOT CUTTER during the season to film local food sources.

Castellon Spain cargo expected, around the 19th April to load Ball Clay - the second this year. Bideford had 22 ships last financial year a 120% increase on the previous year. Also 36 vessels subject to Pilotage visited Appledore in the recently completed financial year (30 to Hansons and Evans yard 6 larger vessels to the Babcock Appledore Shipyard.)

Yachts being launched, Yachts are appearing especially off Instow where the yacht club members are launching ready for the season.

Farmers Markets on quay. The second Farmer's Market is due tomorrow on the multi use quay at Bideford.
