Log ship deatined at Avonmouth - two log ships in January.

Euroforest have lost the ship due for tomorrow mornings tide due to a Classification Society Class (Germanischer Lloyd) repair required to her lifeboat mechanism which can not be completed until the Spring tides have passed. An alternative vessel cannot be found at this stage.

The cargo at the Cattle Market will be cleared on January 9th approxiamately when the next log ship arrives. A simultaneous log cargo will also be loaded at YELLAND. Euroforest have stated that they will use Bideford and Yelland to load cargo in the future to give them more flexibility in booking ships.

The JST crane - which arrived last night from Wales, is returning to Wales today. TDC's crane driver Mike Pryer had levelled the berth ready for the ship arrival.

Euroforest MD and the German Buyer of the logs from Walkantor visited Bideford today, on their way round the North Devon plantations.
