Bideford ships, Yelland ship. Appledore ship.

mv CELTIC FORTUNE is due to arrive on tonights 0324 tide from FOYNES, Ireland to load at Bideford 3 grades of ball clay for CASTELLON in Spain. A smaller ship is due at Bideford later in the month to load ball clay for BENDORF, Germany.

mv BALDER is due from CORK, on Saturday at 1600 to berth at YELLAND QUAY. She will load up to 2100 tonnes of logs - one of the smallest loads exported from the estuary.

River channels (rivers Taw and Torridge) and berths have been affected by the winter rains, and now the prolonged Easterly winds.

 BABCOCK APPLEDORE SHIPBUILDERS are expecting an ABIS type special projects/ cargo ship to load the first of the Appledore built steel sections for the second British aircraft carrier now being built at ROSYTH on the 24th April next.

Head of the River Rowing race is to take place on the river on Saturday.
