oday with a load of Spruce logs for WISMAR in the German Baltic sea. She has loaded approx 2500 tonnes. with draught of 4.8metres starboard aft 4.4 m ford 4.7m midships starboard side with a starboard list.

The Master is intending to sail to anchor off Clovelly or possibly Lundy to await an improvement in the weather since log deck cargoes are vulnerable in bad weather.

Weather permitting she will sail North of Denmark rather than transit the Kiel canal. Pilot boat helm Thom Flaxman and crew Martin Foot, Pilot Roger Hoad. Sea conditions were moderate to rough the pilot disembarking before the ebb tide made conditions worse.

mv WELSH PIPER is due for YELLAND to discharge sand arriving at 1810 hrs and sailing at 2010 hours from the jetty on Friday next. Latest: she is now weather bound in Avonmouth - next possible arrival Saturday PM depending on weather improvement.

Appledore lifeboat has entered Babcock Appledore Shipyard small slip shed for work this morning. She is to have her bottom cleaned and re anti fouled by a team from South Devon. She is to re launch tonight.

A stone cargo of 3,000 tonnes is expected at YELLAND by the end of this month.
