Valentin Pikul sailed from YELLAND EXE OTTER arrives at BIDEFORD..

mv VALENTIN PIKUL sailed from YELLAND QUAY at 0645 hrs this morning for Luebeck with her 2500 + tonnes of logs. Her Master says that due to expected bad weather she may transit the KIEL CANAL.

The ship had a good load of logs aboard, all Spruce.

This evening the EXE Otter arrived at Bideford in ballast (1900 hrs) for a hand over stay of one week in the port. Her crew are Russian and Cape Verde Islanders, some of the Cape Verde Islanders have been onboard for 18months some 12 months and are due to go home.

The Appledore lifeboat has an engine problem, and has been temoporaily replaced by a sister lifeboat until repairs are completed. Martin Cox and his crew collected the boat from North Wales during last week.

mv OLDENBURG arrived in port from LUNDY this evening, and has a social event on board alongside the quay. Exe Otter off BridgeOct13
