Welsh Piper delivers her cargo

mv WELSH PIPER arrived just before dawn today to deliver her cargo of Grade A sand extracted from the BRISTOL CHANNEL near to FLATHOLM ISLAND.

The ship was piloted into YELLAND QUAY by TDC Pilot Roger Hoad and crew John Pavitt and Thom Flaxman. She discharged her sand cargo of circa 1300 tonnes in 1 hour 50 mins and sailed at HW plus 1h 40 mins back to sea. NOTTS CONTRACORS were on hand to receive the cargo and ably loaded the landed sand into lorries using their swing shovel.

The ship is now heading to load more sand for Avonmouth.
