Anne Dorte misses 0315 hrs tide

mv ANNE DORTE failed to make her ETA for the early am tide today, and was planning to go to anchor in the vicinity of the Fairway buoy ready to board her Pilot at 1445 hrs later today.

The Pilot boat proceeded toward boarding area, but the ship was unable to maintain her relatively fast speed of 13 knots for the run from WICKLOW, Ireland. The ship is quite new having been built in 2011.

The log loading crane was to have started loading early this morning at YELLAND, but is likely now to work on the ship's arrival this afternoon, completing during the course of Friday. Sailing is dependant on the draught of the ship on sailing as she is early on the set of Spring tides.

Berth levelling at BIDEFORD has been completed with the harbour crane. Mr Michael Pryer reports that the lack of rainfall has caused quite a reasonable amount of material to build up in places on the berth.

mv COUNTESS ANNA remains on schedule for loading Ball Clay from BIDEFORD for Southern Spain early next week reportedly passing Dover at 2300 hrs last night from Holland, bound for Swansea to discharge her present cargo.

NORTH DEVON YACHT CLUB are in the midst of national racing events this week.
