Submitting a Requisition for Official Search of the Local Land Charges Register (Form LLC1) and Law Society CON29 Enquiries of the Local Authority (2016)

In order to avoid unnecessary delays and difficulties please ensure that the following principles are observed:-

Application forms LLC1, CON29 and, if required, CON29O, should be completed in full and include the correct postal address/description of the subject property.

Please ensure that box C of form CON29 is completed to identify any roadways, footpaths and footways that are relevant to the search (subject to a maximum of 3 roads excluding any road included in the address or description of the property).

Applicants are advised to raise any CON29O optional or additional enquiries when submitting the original request. This is because the fees are established on the basis that enquiries are made at one and the same time. The Council cannot guarantee to answer free of cost, or at a minimum charge, enquiries that could have been made at the time of the original request.

Search Fees can be paid by debit/credit card over the telephone. Simply provide the relevant contact name and telephone number with the application. A member of the Local Land Charges team will check and verify the fees payable before phoning to take the card payment. Alternatively, payment can be made by cheque, made payable to "Torridge District Council", sent to the address shown below.

A good quality up to date plan (preferably a licensed extract from an up to date Ordnance Survey map at a scale of 1: 1250 or 1: 2500) must be submitted with every request. The exact boundaries of the subject property should be clearly and accurately shown by a red outline without any additions to the plan. Any Ordnance Survey maps received from third parties must be correctly licensed for this purpose (including an appropriate copyright statement and licence number to show that it meets OS's licensing terms). Maps should not have been copied from another map such as a Land Registry Title Plan or a map which has a watermark.

Ordnance Survey plans can be easily and quickly purchased via an Ordnance Survey Partner at relatively little cost (simply click on the following link and search for an Ordnance Survey Partner under the "Browse by Solution" option and "Planning applications and conveyancing" category  - https://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/customers/businesses/find-a-business-partner

Please ensure that the correct name, postal address, email address, telephone number, reference and all other details of the applicant are accurately set out on Forms LLC1, CON 29 and CON 29O.

Application Forms (LLC1, CON29, CON29O), up to date Search plan and cheque (if unable to pay by credit/debit card) should be submitted to:
