Do I need planning permission?

If you have read the guidance on the planning portal, but remain unsure whether planning permission is needed for your proposal, we can give you informal advice through our pre application advice service. This is where a planning officer will assess your enquiry based on the relevant planning policies, the service can also be used to answer more in depth queries about planning legislation or any other matter that could require further research. 

Please note your enquiry will not be actioned without a fee (unless a fee exemption applies) and you should receive a written response within approximately 28-42 working days.

Please be advised that most dwellings will benefit from permitted development rights whereby certain small scale building projects will not require planning permission.
