To help make recycling easier there are also 9 recycling bring sites so that all residents are within easy reach of recycling facilities, and there are three County Council Recycling Centres at Caddsdown Business Park - Bideford, Deepmoor, Torrington, and Anvil Corner, Holsworthy.

'Rethink Rubbish' and 'Check it before you chuck it' were slogans of the recent Devon-wide DEFRA funded campaign to highlight the problem of waste in Devon and to get across the message that 60% of household rubbish can be recycled. A team of door-steppers carried out over 22,000 door-to-door surveys of waste and recycling habits to raise awareness of the need to reduce waste, recycle more and conserve resources.
