Getting Involved (Consultations)

Introduction

As part of the process of preparing planning policy and developing the Local Development Framework (LDF) there is an opportunity for the community and stakeholders to get involved and have their say. This is an important area of work that will shape the future of Torridge and it is vital that people get involved in deciding how the area will evolve.

Throughout the process of preparing planning policy it is likely that there will be various opportunities to get involved such as commenting on documents, attending workshops and meetings, or responding to surveys. The details of future opportunities to get involved will be publicised on this site so please check regularly for future opportunities to have your say.

Community involvement lies at the heart of the Local Development Framework and to this end the ways to get involved or have your say are laid out in a specific document – the Statement of Community Involvement.

Public Consultation on Pre-publication Core Strategy DPD    21st January - 15th March 2010

Consultation Extended - now closed

North Devon Council and Torridge District Council have prepared a draft version of the Core Strategy. Comment on the document was invited between 21st January and 15th March 2010. The consultation period was subsequently extended until the 15th March to ensure people had the opportunity to have their say.

Public Consultation on Winkleigh Airfield Site Development Brief SPD    21st January – 4th March 2010

A draft of the Winkleigh Airfield Site Development Brief Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) was available for public consultation for a period of six weeks between 21st January and 4th March 2010.

Consultation Portal

The Council has a dedicated online consultation portal that will offer opportunities to get involved or have your say via the internet. The consultation portal will offer various ways to get involved in the preparation of planning policy documents. You will be able to view and download documents, submit your comments online, fill out surveys and potentially take part in debates via online forums.
