Village Hall Grants

Grants available for community buildings

Each year Devon County Council allocates a sum of money to be given in grants to rural community buildings (i.e. village halls).  The Community Council of Devon (CCD) administers this scheme.

CCD can award grants of up to a third of the total project costs, up to a maximum of £30,000.  Match funding should make up two thirds of your budget; this should include a contribution from the local community (some of which can be from your Parish Council).

Torridge District Council match funding is available for this scheme, and can be used as part of your match funding.  In previous years District Council match funding was mandatory.  This is no longer the case, but it will contribute to the strength of the application.  You will need to state on your CCD application form how much funding you wish to apply for from Torridge District Council.  CCD will then liaise with us and we will award funds according to CCD criteria and the funds we have available.

Grant awards from CCD are now between £1,500 and £20,000.

Dependant on budgets allocated for 2012/13, the scheme will be open for applications from the 1st April, 2012

Please note that applications to this scheme must be made through the Community Council for Devon, and cannot be made through Torridge District Council.

For more information please go to the CCD website.

If you would like to discuss your application with a member of staff please call CCD on 01392 383443 or email grants@devonrcc.org.uk
