Food and Health & Safety
The Food and Safety Team is part of the Council's Environmental Health Service. We work alongside the Environmental Protection and Licensing Teams from offices in Bridge Buildings, Bideford. We undertake official food safety controls in the District and enforce health & safety in the workplace at certain premises including retail, wholesale and leisure businesses. We are a statutory service and work in close partnership with national enforcement agencies such as the Food Standards Agency, Health & Safety Executive and the Health Protection Agency. These pages have been designed to support local businesses and members of the public, wishing to make a complaint or enquiry.

Chefs Corner is about local food businesses working together. The project was funded and facilitated by the Council from Apr 2007 - Apr 2011. At the end of the project we asked the Chefs Corner members if they would like to carry on the project but manage cooking events themselves and they voted to do so. The current members are listed below. Contact Dan or Brian for further information on getting involved.
