Game Dealers' Licences

A licence is no longer required to deal in game or to kill game.

Following consultation by DEFRA in 2007, the Government decided to abolish the requirement to hold a licence to deal in game or to kill game.

Although a licence is no longer required, if you wish to deal in game, you must ensure that you comply with any food hygiene requirements and you may need to be registered with the Council's Food and Safety Team.  You can contact the Food and Safety Team at foodandsafety@torridge.gov.uk or access information about registering your business by clicking on the icon on the right.
