Building Control
Government derived regulations ensure the health, safety, welfare and convenience of all people (including the disabled) in or about buildings. This control extends to both private and public buildings, with plan checking and site inspection being undertaken by Building Control Surveyors.
IMPORTANT NEWS.
On the 1st October 2011 a large number of sewers previously in private ownership were transferred to South West Water.
It is the responsibility of property owners to make diligent enquires to determine whether the drainage in the vicinity of any proposed development is a public sewer or lateral drain under the control of the Water Authority and seek their consent to the "build-over" prior to construction.
