Review of premises licences or club premises certificates

Information on how to apply for a review of a premises licence or club premises certificate.

If you would like your concerns, as a local person or business, to be taken into account with regard to a premises licence or club premises certificate, you can ask for a review.

However, before applying for a review, please consider whether your concerns could be dealt with outside of a formal review process. This could involve, for example:

  • talking to the licence or certificate holder to determine whether there are any steps they may be willing to take to rectify the situation.
  • asking the Council's Licensing Team to talk to the licensee on your behalf
  • asking your local MP or councillor to speak to the licensee or certificate holder on your behalf
  • talking to the relevant responsible authority (such as environmental health in relation to noise nuisance or police in relation to crime and disorder) to determine whether there is other legislation that could help resolve the issue

If you wish to proceed with a formal review, please read the guidance notes and complete the application form available in the related downloads section.

There is no fee connected with a review application.
