Welsh Piper discharges her cargo at Yelland.

mv Welsh Piper arrived early this morning before sunrise and discharge some 1200 tonnes of sand onto Yelland Quay for NOTTS contractors.

Weather conditions were good after overnight gales. The master reports that they had an uncomfortable trip from Blue Anchor Bay, with the off duty crew having difficulty in sleeping as the ship rolled and piched.

Demand for sand at her various delivery ports is low at present. She is returning to Avonmouth with another load of sea dredged sand and needs to replenish her food stores for the crew reports her master.

Pilot boat crew were John Pavitt and Thom Flaxman. Pilot was Roger Hoad.
