Ship due for Bideford to load logs

The Russian ship PORHOV (95 metres ex Baltiyiskiy 105) is due on Sunday in the early hours of the morning. A ship of this class has been to Bideford previously to load clay.

She is an older design of Russian owned and operated ship and has 12 crew including a cadet and a female cook.

She will commence loading at 0600hrs on Monday next and complete during the early evening, sailing in the early morning of Tuesday or possibly on the evening tide.

She is slightly longer than the average vessel, but with less beam, and so her carrying capacity will be somewhat less than the more modern ships.

The JST crane awaits work in the Evans transport yard at East the Water.
